The Credential that Stands Above the Rest

Your organization can’t afford to gamble with its Sarbanes-Oxley compliance initiatives. That’s why you should seek out candidates who hold the GRC Group’s CSOX certification, and why you should pave the way for your current employees to attend advanced Sarbanes-Oxley training and become Certified in Sarbanes-Oxley.

The Certified in Sarbanes-Oxley credential signifies that the candidate has three years of professional experience and has been certified, though testing, as having the following knowledge:

  • The key tenets of the SOX Act
  • The history and impact of the SOX Act
  • Industry-accepted frameworks and principles
  • The role of audit committees
  • Auditor independence
  • Conflicts of interest and codes of conduct
  • Whistleblower protection and corporate fraud
  • White collar criminal penalties
  • COSO ERM components of internal environment, objective setting, even identification, risk assessment, risk response, control activities, information and communication, and monitoring
  • Section 404 internal control documentation
  • Entity-level and activity-level testing controls, techniques, effectiveness, and documentation
  • SOX Section 404 project lifecycle management

The CSOXP (Certified Sarbanes-Oxley Professional) credential certifies that a candidate has all of the knowledge listed above, and has 1,200 hours of related work experience over the past three years.

The CSOXM (Certified Sarbanes-Oxley Manager) credential certifies that a candidate has all of the knowledge listed above, has 1,200 hours of related work experience over the past three years, and is currently in a management position.

Today, many organizations recognize that the CSOX credential is an indicator that the candidate stays abreast of best practices and provides their organization with a sound roadmap and implementation guidelines that ensure Sarbanes-Oxley compliance while supporting business goals.
