The Certification that Opens Doors

When it comes to Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, it’s all about what you know. Indeed, chances are good that you know more about SOX compliance than most people in your organization, or the person interviewing you. But it can be a challenge to demonstrate to your potential or current employer that you have mastered the intricacies of Sarbanes-Oxley. That’s why obtaining the GRC Group’s Certification in Sarbanes-Oxley should be your next career goal.

The CSOX (Certified in Sarbanes-Oxley) credential communicates that you have three years of professional experience and have been certified, though testing, as having the following knowledge:

  • The key tenets of the SOX Act
  • The history and impact of the SOX Act
  • Industry-accepted frameworks and principles
  • The role of audit committees
  • Auditor independence
  • Conflicts of interest and codes of conduct
  • Whistleblower protection and corporate fraud
  • White collar criminal penalties
  • COSO ERM components of internal environment, objective setting, even identification, risk assessment, risk response, control activities, information and communication, and monitoring
  • Section 404 internal control documentation
  • Entity-level and activity-level testing controls, techniques, effectiveness, and documentation
  • SOX Section 404 project lifecycle management

The CSOXP (Certified Sarbanes-Oxley Professional) credential communicates that you have all of the knowledge listed above, and have 1,200 hours of related work experience over the past three years.

The CSOXM (Certified Sarbanes-Oxley Manager) credential communicates that you have all of the knowledge listed above, have 1,200 hours of related work experience over the past three years, and are currently in a management position.

Once you are Certified in Sarbanes-Oxley, the GRC Group’s maintenance program ensures that your certification retains its value. Our member-only journals, our newsletters, our webinars, and other GRC Group learning activities help you stay abreast of developments in the field while keeping your certification current.
